The Willows Theatre Company is thrilled to announce our 2009 season of  musicals at the conveniently located and intimate Willows Cabaret at the Campbell Theatre in Martinez, and hope you and your friends and family will join us!

We will get 2009 off to a running start with the wildly popular musical Forever Plaid, the story of a four-man harmony group who have been given a second chance at fame. The stars align to bring this eager foursome, who were killed before they ever reached stardom, back to the stage for a posthumous concert. The result is a fabulously funny collection of song and dance, filled with some of the greatest hits of the 1950’s. This charming musical is sure to put a smile on your face and a dance in your step.

Next up will be The Great American Trailer Park Musical. When Pippi, a stripper on the run, moves into Armadillo Acres (Florida’s most exclusive trailer park) things take a hilarious turn for the zany. Jeannie, a Dr. Phil-loving agoraphobic, and her toll-booth collecting husband find themselves pulled apart by Pippi’s appearance, and a whole slew of other problems pop up. Join us as we delve into the mysteries of hysterical pregnancy, a broken electric chair, 80’s nostalgia, road kill, and spray cheese in this hilarious new musical about life, trailer park style.

In the spring, we will present a show that salutes one of America's most treasured traditions: Pageant. Imagine a beauty pageant, set it to music, and then turn the whole thing on its head and you have this funny, wacky and ultimately endearing musical about the trials and tribulations of six contestants vying for the title of "Miss Glamouresse." With a twist that’s sure to have you laughing all the way home, you won’t want to miss this one!

In the late summer, we are pleased to present the Tony award-winning musical phenomenon The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. All the usual suspects are ready to compete: the spunky overachiever; the ultra- pressured only child; the weirdo; the outcast; last year’s winner; and the out-of-place runner up. Through song we delve into the lives of six children who all have one thing in common - a love of spelling. But anyway you spell it, this musical is one hilarious and heartwarming night of theatre.

To get the fall rolling (and rocking), jump back in time with us as  we bring you 8-Track: The Sounds of the 70's. You’re sure to be smiling and laughing when you hear your favorite hit tunes of that memorable era, all in the great party atmosphere of the Willows Cabaret. You’ll be humming along in your seat and dancing all the way home.

And for the holidays, we present Hats! The Musical. The perfect show for anyone who has ever thought that growing older doesn’t mean getting old. This Red-Hat Society musical sums up their philosophy of enjoyment through song and dance and reminds you that the older you are, the more fun you can have! Although it is all about Red Hat Ladies, this show is fun for everyone of all ages. The PERFECT outing for a red hat group!
