General Audition
Information:
-
Audition notices are placed in Theatre Bay
Area Magazine, on the Equity hotline, and in local
newspapers.
-
Auditions are held at either the Willows
Theatre, (1975 Diamond Blvd.), or the Willows Cabaret/Campbell Theatre (636 Ward
St. Martinez, CA) or at our rehearsal facility (115 Tarantino Dr.
Martinez, CA).
-
Any and all audition questions should be
addressed to the Casting Department at (925) 798-1300
Rehearsal Schedule:
-
Rehearsals generally are held 6:30 to 10:30
weekdays and during daytime hours on weekends, times based on conflicts,
generally Noon to 5:00 or similar times.
-
We usually have one weekday evening off per
week, either Thursday or Friday evening.
-
If there are children in the rehearsal,
whenever possible we try to finish with them earlier rather than
later.
Performance
Schedule:
-
Seven shows per week, a five- to six-week
run, and a total of 35-42 performances per production.
-
This schedule includes Wednesday 3:30
Matinees, as well as Saturday and Sunday Matinees.
-
When there are children under 18 in the
cast, we usually double cast their roles (with some exceptions) so that
they only need to commit to 3 - 4 performances per week.
Compensation:
-
All non-equity adult roles are paid a travel
stipend (hundreds, not thousands).
-
The Willows Theatre Company operates under a
LOA referencing LORT D contract with Actors Equity.
-
Our contract with Actors Equity Association
does allow for points toward the Equity membership candidacy.
-
Youth (16 and under) roles are NOT paid a
stipend, however they do receive ticket vouchers to the show as well as
one free ticket to each main stage production of the Willows Theatre
Company for the next year.
-
Each cast member is allotted two
Complimentary Tickets to be used anytime during the run (except
for opening night). These must be
reserved at the Daytime Box Office or over the phone – (925) 798-1300.
Each cast member is also allotted two additional Comp Tickets for
Opening Night. A sign-up sheet for these tickets will be posted
backstage on the callboard during Preview week.
